Bovey Tracey to Exeter - Rest day - only 15 miles (according to Aly's planning) - turned out to be 17 miles but at least we had the afternoon off. Jo and Dave took us to Budleigh Salterton where we paddled in the sea and then to Win's (Dave's mother's) who lives near Sidmouth where we were fed and showered (thanks Win and Barry - much appreciated). Miss Joanne even washed my running socks which was an act of considerable bravery.

dave and i had a great time meeting up with aly and malc, we saw parts of devon we hadn,t been to before and the weather was glorious most of the time. they,re in good spirits and are doing brilliantly, we,re now looking forward to seeing them again in 3 weeks time in the borders, ( i told malc not to say anything about me washing his socks, i did wear rubber gloves and a peg).
